Zachary Peatling (3)

Zachary Peatling is a British public historian, writer, and content creator dedicated to bringing the past to life for modern audiences. He holds a Master’s degree in Public History from Royal Holloway, University of London, where he developed a focus on how storytelling, digital media, and heritage interpretation can make history accessible and engaging to the public.

He is the founder of Present History, a multimedia history platform that produces articles, podcasts, and videos exploring the people, events, and cultural currents that have shaped Britain. Through this work, he seeks to bridge the gap between academic history and popular understanding, using narrative-driven content to inspire curiosity and critical thinking about the past.

In addition to his independent work, Zachary serves as the Social Media and Content Officer at the Weald & Downland Living Museum in West Sussex, where he helps interpret rural English history and traditional craftsmanship for visitors and online audiences. His work combines historical scholarship with creative communication - making him part of a new generation of historians who blend research, storytelling, and digital media to revive interest in British history.

His current projects explore themes such as identity, folklore, national memory, and the role of ordinary people in shaping Britain’s historical landscape.
